A note regarding Squarespace 5 sites:
Squarespace 5, our legacy platform, doesn't allow permissions to be edited. However, we can cancel or remove the site.

Hiding a blog post's metadata
Customize your blog pages and posts by choosing what metadata your site visitors can see. Depending on your site's version and template, hide one or more or these elements to streamline your blog or remove unnecessary information:
- Authors
- Publication date
- Categories and tags
To get started with a blog page, first visit Blogging with Squarespace.
Hide the author
On most Squarespace sites, you can choose to hide or show the author with style settings. A few templates on version 7.0 always hide them. On all sites, you can use a summary block to create a blog landing page that doesn't contain an author.
- Version 7.1
- Version 7.0
To hide author names on your blog page:
- In the Home menu, click Pages, then click a blog page.
- Click Edit in the top-left corner of the blog page.
- Hover over the blog section and click the pencil icon.
- Ensure Author isn't selected as either Primary Meta Data or Secondary Meta Data.
- Hover over Done and click Save.
These changes affect all blog pages using the same layout.
To hide author names on blog posts:
- In the Home menu, click Pages, then click a blog page.
- Hover over a blog post in the side panel and click Edit.
- Hover over the post and click the pencil icon.
- Switch the Show Author Name toggle off.
- Hover over Done and click Save.

Using summary blocks to hide authors or dates
On version 7.0 templates whose blog page doesn't support hiding the author name or publication date, you can create an alternate blog landing page using a summary block, which pulls information from your blog page.
First, add a new layout page to your navigation.
Add a summary block in your preferred display (Wall, Carousel, List, or Grid). In the Content tab, choose the Blog you'd like to display.
Choose how you want the posts to appear in the Layout tab.
In the Display tab, set Primary Metadata and Secondary Metadata to any option except Date Posted (to hide the date) or Author (to hide author name).
For more help, visit summary blocks.
To use this new page as a replacement for your main blog page, move your blog page to the Not linked section to hide it from the main navigation.
Hide categories and tags
Whether or not you can hide categories or tags from blog pages or individual blog posts depends on your site's version.
- Version 7.1
- Version 7.0
Tags never display on blog pages, but always display on individual blog posts. Tags can't be hidden on blog posts.
