Text Message Recipient Is Offline
I have this question too. Until a week ago, I didn't realize that this was happening. I thought that when I sent a text message to multiple recipients, each would get their own private thread. However, my friends with iPhone recently told me that whenever I did this they could see the other recipients. I think this is a dangerous privacy violation since the WP does not warn of tell me it's doing this.
Similarly, when I receive a group message, my iPhone friends can see the entire group list, but I don't know it's a group message and in the past I thought I was replying to just the sender. Again a serious potential privacy issue.
The phone should indicate group messages as well as the ability to see whom they were sent to, and the ability to reply to 1, some, or all on that list. I hope this will be in the Apollo version and made available to gen 1 devices.

This is a case of SMS versus MMS. Normal SMS does not carry the names of all recipients, where as when using the Group Text feature found in iPhone and Windows Phone, MMS is used, which is more akin to email and you can see all the recipients.

That's right, it needs to be fixed. Its an OS interface problem that s/b solved. I'm amazed at how little traffic there is discussing the problem.

But, you can't see all the recipients. What is your point and do you have a real answer?

This is the answer, in fact. once you change the setting to turn on Group Texts, anything with multiple recipients comes in on its own thread, shows the count, and lists the recipients on the top of the thread when you open it. ...at least that's how it worked for me in Windows Phone 8.1 and a Nokia 928

Yes, that is the answer, thanks! I would clarify, however, that to find that setting, you don't go to the phone's "Settings" icon, but open the Messages app, and while on the list of threads screen, touch the three dots to pull up actions, where you then choose "Settings". The on/off button for Group Texts shows when you scroll down a page.
